About Us

Block Printing is done on a piece of fabric with the design carved into a solid wooden block.   Much  like a stamp block can be applied to paper or textile . The origin of block Printing can be found in the round cylinder seals by Mesopotamias. The Origin of printing in india is hard to trace, but it existed in pre-christian era as record shows . Madder dyed  fabric was discovered in Mohenjodaro.

In Bihar Printing is done in Patna, Biharsharif, Darbhanga. The chunri is very famous with peacock , floral , mango animal, doll, birds motif in folk style . Blocks Printing are evergreen and used widely in india as well outside India . Wooden , metals Blocks, are used for printing .

Sunita prakash has experimented with block print and hand paintings, she designed few block of madhubani Design. Mrs. Prakash has participated in many exhibitions, International Trade Fair 2010, Bihar Chamber of Commerce Gram Shree Mela  97, Woman Enterprise 97, Bihar Utsav 2010-11.

Mrs. Sunita got an award for her creativity  based on Bihar folk design at Chandigarh  in 2008. All India Teacher Training Programme by INIFD Chandhigarh. She also got 1st  prize  in costume desion contest at Patna Women’s College. She is Executive Member of Carmel Alumni Association, Secretary Patna Women’s Collage Alumnai Association, Ex. Cultural Secreaty Bihar Women's Council, Executive Member Bihar Mahila Udyog.

She started Bandhni in 1993 and has been a gold medalist in M.A 2008, and a distinction holder and 1st division throught. She has been active in Sports and Cultural activities.
